The Workshops

DQCF is proud to support LGBTQIA+ comedians in sharing their knowledge — comedic, technical, or otherwise — with the community. Check out this year’s festival workshops.

Improv for All! from Washington Improv Theater (WIT)

Improv for All! is a free in-person workshop that will take place at Source Theater on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 4:00pm ET.

WIT’s free introductory Improv For All workshops are high-fun, low-stress classes designed to show you how improvisers create spontaneous, off-the-cuff theater. You can register for the workshop here.

Acting for Improvisers – Emotional Recall from Rhiannon Jenkins

Acting for Improvisers is a virtual workshop that will take place on Sunday, Oct. 17, at 11am ET.

This workshop from festival performer Rhiannon Jenkins will explore sense memory and emotional recall as a way to fully immerse yourself in scenes. You can register for the workshop here.

You can watch performances from the 2019 and 2020 festivals on the District Queer Comedy Festival YouTube channel.
