About Edna von Improv

Edna von Improv has been a confidante of many great improvisors since its invention in the 1960s. The form was supposedly named after her. She's been close friends with great improvising teachers like Viola Spolin, Del Close, Will Hines, Amy Poehler, to name a few. Now, in her 90s, she wants to impart her wisdom on the improv community in her Dear Edna column. Some call her the "grandmother" of improv, but she prefers to be known as your improv aunt... "Aunts have more fun," she says. She likes her martinis like she likes her men: dirty.
