Some highlights from District Comedians this week: Schtick lets local improvisers try out stand-up at Flash, Dungeons and Dojo debuts at…uh…Dojo on Friday, and WIT ensemble Hellcat will battle The Hypothesis in the name of science on Saturday night.
Sunday, April 22
Nemr‘s last show at DC Improv is tonight at 7pm ($25).
Tuesday, April 24
Out Sick and Tiovivo are on for WIT‘s 8pm Harold Night show. Captain PhD and After Pie will perform at 9pm, along with a special show from Commonwealth where WIT students will be chosen at random to perform with the ensemble.
Wednesday, April 25
Hosted by Stacey Axler, Take 425 will feature a mix of local improv and stand-up talent at 7:30pm at Reliable Tavern. Check out improv from Pizza Party, Billy Kowalski’s Brother, Swoonface, and the 50 Duoprov Project, as well as stand-up from Seth Payne and the show’s host.
If you’re in the mood to see some fresh faces, check out the Comedy Bootcamp Graduation show at DC Improv at 7:30pm, where veterans, service members, and military family members show off what they learned from their recent stand-up class.
Thursday, April 26
Watch performers give presentations based on slide decks they’ve never seen before in Speechless: The Ultimate Improvisational Gauntlet at Drafthouse DC at 7:30pm ($5).
Brent Morin will be at DC Improv starting tonight at 7:30pm. He’ll be here through the weekend, with shows on Friday at 7:30pm and 9:45pm, Saturday at 7pm and 9:30pm, and Sunday at 7pm.
Capital Laughs hosts its weekly H Street Comedy Night at Mythology Lounge. The show is free, but you can register here to see some local DC talent at 8pm.
Friday, April 27
Catch this month’s Schtick show at Flash at 7pm. Along with some of your fave DC talent, musical comedy duo The Greys is coming down from New York to headline ($5).
Rachel Feinstein will be at Drafthouse DC tonight at 7pm and Saturday at 7pm ($25).
DC Improv‘s DMV Comedy Showcase features, as the name suggests, local stand-ups from the DMV area. This time around, you can see sets from Katherine Jessup, Dylan Meyer, Naomi Karavani, Tim D. Miller, and Rahmein Mostafavi at 7:30pm and 9:45pm ($17).
TwinTurbo kicks off Friday Night Comedy at Dojo this week at 8pm, followed by Death Wipe and The Church at 9:30pm ($10).
SNL’s Chris Redd takes the stage at Drafthouse DC tonight at 9pm, Saturday at 9pm ($25).
Check out the Attack of the Comics open-mic at Drafthouse DC at 10:45pm.
If you like Game of Thrones or other mystical adventure shows, make sure to see the debut of Dojo‘s Dungeons and Dojo at 11pm ($7).
Saturday, April 28
Watch some of your favorite performers do original character monologues at The Character Show at 6pm at Dojo ($10).
Another round of DC Improv‘s DMV Comedy Showcase will feature stand-up from Matty Litwack, Chelsea Shorte, Rob Maher, Ayanna Dookie, and Tommy Taylor Jr. at 7:30pm and 9:45pm ($20).
The Hypothesis and Hellcat face off in a science-themed improv battle as part of LabX‘s Night Lab. Tune in for jokes and facts at 8pm at Smith Public Trust ($20).
Saturday Night Comedy is on at Dojo with Maple Sunday and Diviglio at 8pm and The High-Fivers at 9:30pm ($10).
Three Guys On hosts a showcase of local comedic talent every Saturday at Drafthouse DC at 10:45pm.
