Some highlights from District Comedians this week: A handful of benefit shows help you give back to the community, Chinese Menu Comedy hosts its last (planned) show, and WIT’s Summer Escape run starts this week.
Sunday, June 17
Improv Sandbox hosts its monthly jam at 1pm at Emergence Community Arts Collective. This month’s jam features advice from Seth Payne on using improv to enhance stand-up, as well as a performance from Rooster.
Several DC podcasters are coming together to do their first live podcast taping at DC Improv in The Cast-Pod show ($25).
Andrew Schulz‘s last show at DC Improv is tonight at 7pm ($17).
WIT’s last road show event features Oh No!, Latinx States of America, and Love Onion with Tom Teasley at DCAC at 7:30pm ($15).
Underground Comedy hosts their weekly showcase at Wonderland Ballroom at 8pm.
Monday, June 18
Broken Mic Comedy hosts their weekly stand-up night at Shenanigan’s at 8pm.
Definitely Real Comedy hosts Humans Telling Jokes at Moreland’s Tavern at 8pm.
Tuesday, June 19
This week’s Harold Night features WIT ensembles Out Sick and LIZARD GIRL at 8pm and Wonder Whale and the newest Harold team, whose working name is Cherry Blossom, at 9pm at Source.
Phil & a Mic showcases local stand-ups every Tuesday at Bier Baron Tavern at 8:30pm.
Wednesday, June 20
The Time Machine Roast features some of your favorite local comics in costume as some of your favorite historical figures. Watch them roast each other at DC Improv at 7:30pm ($15).
Comedy Potluck will throw together wacky local acts tonight at Wonderland Ballroom at 8pm.
Underground Comedy’s weekly showcase at Rí Rá Irish Pub happens every Wednesday at 8pm.
U Don’t Kno Jack happens every Wednesday at Town Tavern at 8pm.
Former teacher turned stand-up Devin Siebold is performing at Drafthouse at 8:30pm ($20).
Thursday, June 21
Happy Hour Comedy happens every week at Cafe Saint-Ex at 6pm.
Jokes That Give Back features stand-up from local comedians and gives to worthy causes. This month’s show is accepting donations for Happy Period at Drafthouse at 7pm ($10).
Best Party Ever, The Four Heads, No Re Mi, and White Privilege, Black Power open WIT’s Summer Escape run at Source at 7:30pm ($15).
Tom Papa headlines in the DC Improv main showroom this week with shows tonight at 7:30pm, Friday at 7:30pm and 9:45pm, and Saturday at 7pm and 9:30pm ($20–$25).
Definitely Real Comedy hosts Jokes of Worship at Moreland Tavern at 8pm ($10).
Adams Morgan comedy night is every Thursday at 8pm at Town Tavern.
Underground Comedy hosts a weekly local stand-up showcase every Thursday at Reliable Tavern at 8pm.
Franqi French hosts Broad Way, a show created by and featuring an array of diverse talent, at Drafthouse at 8:45pm ($5).
Friday, June 22
Erik Rivera headlines at Drafthouse this weekend with shows at 7pm and 9pm on Friday and Saturday ($20).
Chinese Menu Comedy‘s not-last-show-but-kind-of-last-show is tonight at 7:30pm at DCAC ($10).
Tonight’s Summer Escape show from WIT features The Quitters, Jos. A. Banksy, and Madeline at 7:30pm and Childish Things, Love Onion, Nox!, and Digital Natives at 9:30pm at Source ($15).
Kate Quigley‘s DC Improv headlining debut takes place in the Lounge with shows tonight and Saturday at 7:30pm and 9:45pm ($18–$20).
Big Duo Night is back with new hosts, Goodison! Catch your favorite DC improv duos tonight at Colony Club at 8pm.
Friday Night Comedy at Dojo features Radar and Klinger at 8pm, followed by Brainwash and Encino Boy at 9:30pm ($10).
Star Wars nerds, rejoice! Gravid Watto is back at Unified Scene at 8pm, accompanied by musical Harold group Where’s My Ukelele? ($12).
Underground Comedy presents their weekly stand-up showcase at The Big Hunt at 9:45pm ($20).
Capital Laughs hosts Laugh for Good, a benefit stand-up show whose proceeds go towards erasing medical debt in partnership with RIP Medical Debt. Check it out and do some good at Bier Baron Tavern at 10pm ($20).
Weekly open-mic, Attack of the Comics, is at Drafthouse at 10:45pm.
Saturday, June 23
This month’s Character Show features your favorite local improvisers and sketch performers in costume and in character at Dojo at 6pm ($10).
Regional Sauce, The High-Fivers, and Hellcat are onstage at Source at 7:30pm, followed by Daywalkers, Sábado Picante, and Commonwealth at 9:30pm as part of WIT’s Summer Escape show ($15).
Stacey Axler’s Take 623 show is at Colony Club at 8pm, featuring improv from Pizza Party and Axler‘s duoprov project and stand-up from Melissa Gedney.
Find out about some weirdo history events at the Three Sheets Lecture Series at Dew Drop Inn at 8pm. The show is free but will be accepting donations for Dance Place.
Saturday Night Comedy at Dojo features Dogington S. Wanderson has shows at 8pm and 9:30pm, accompanied by The Royal Nonesuch and Sharing ($10).
Three Guys On hosts their weekly comedy showcase at Drafthouse at 10:45pm.
