Some highlights from District Comedians this week: The Make Up Party features a handful of local acts competing for your laughs, and New York comics are descending on DC en masse for some unknown reason.
Sunday, June 3
The competitive Make Up Party show is travel-themed this time around at DC Improv at 7pm. The show will feature sketch from Unaccompanied Minor, Say What?, Bad Medicine, Rifkin & VerSteeg, The Midnight Gardeners League, and Immature Idiots, stand-up from Christian Escoto, Eddie Morrison, Carlic Huynh, Alex Espinoza, and Shawn Fisher, and improv from Mighty Multi-Denominationals, MC Slimm Slappy, and Blood Pact ($5).
The Maurice Brown Comedy Show features Jason Weems this month at Drafthouse at 7pm ($25).
Ari Shaffir‘s last show at DC Improv is tonight at 7pm ($25).
WIT’s Interplay is happening at DCAC with Double Stuff, Hellcat, and a music ensemble collaboration at 7:30pm ($15).
Underground Comedy hosts their weekly showcase at Wonderland Ballroom at 8pm.
Monday, June 4
Broken Mic Comedy hosts their weekly comedy showcase at Shenanigans at 8pm.
Tuesday, June 5
Jason Weems headlines DC Improv’s show at Dupont Underground at 7pm. The show also features sets from Matty Litwack and Brittany Carney ($15).
This week’s Harold Night features WIT ensembles Captain PhD and Tiovivo at 8pm and Oh That Baby and LIZARD GIRL at 9pm at Source.
Jokebyrd features local comedians at Songbyrd at 8pm.
Comedy showcase Phil & a Mic, hosted by Capital Laughs, is at Bier Baron at 8:30pm.
Wednesday, June 6
The Ask Rayceen show this month is a free comedy showcase featuring The Improv Imps, Curt Mariah, and other local comedians at the HRC Equality Center at 6pm.
Capital Laughs presents U Don’t Kno Jack, a comedy showcase at Town Tavern at 8pm.
Underground Comedy hosts a weekly comedy showcase at Rí Rá Irish Pub at 8pm.
Thursday, June 7
The Happy Hour Comedy Show, hosted by Capital Laughs, features free stand-up at Cafe Saint-Ex at 6pm.
CAKE, Sistine Robot, and Commonwealth with Story District are at DCAC as part of WIT’s Interplay show at 7:30pm ($15).
Dave Rubin Live is in the Main Showroom at DC Improv tonight at 7:30pm ($25).
Adams Morgan Comedy Night from Capital Laughs at Town Tavern at 7:30pm.
Underground Comedy hosts a weekly comedy showcase at Reliable Tavern at 8pm.
Friday, June 8
StandpComedyToGo hosts Georgetown Comedy Night at Chinese Disco at 7pm.
Dan Cummins headlines this weekend at Drafthouse with shows tonight and Saturday at 7pm and 9pm ($20).
WIT’s Interplay features Love Onion and Commonwealth with Story District at 7:30pm, followed by PLEASE HELP!, Dayzee Chain, and Hellcat at 9:30pm at DCAC ($15).
Gina Yashere makes her DC Improv debut this weekend with shows tonight at 7:30pm and 9:45pm, Saturday at 7pm and 9:30pm, and Sunday at 7pm ($17–$22).
DC Improv hosts an NYC Comedy Showcase tonight and Saturday at 7:30pm and 9:45pm. The show features two comics with DC roots: Courtney Fearrington and Ryan Schutt ($17–$20).
Friday Night Comedy at Dojo has Stovëtron and Couch Money on at 8pm and Maple Sunday, Goodison, and Twin Turbo at 9:30pm ($10).
The NYC Comedy Invades DC show will wage its first attack on our fair district at Town Tavern at 8:30pm ($15).
Underground Comedy hosts their weekly stand-up show at The Big Hunt at 9:45pm ($20).
Jordan Carlos is at Bier Baron at 9:45 ($15).
Attack of the Comics gives local comics stage time at Drafthouse at 10:45pm.
Saturday, June 9
WIT’s Interplay road show is at DCAC with Madeline and Commonwealth with Story District at 7:30pm, followed by Big No-No, The Female Accent, and Nox! at 9:30pm ($15).
The Artless Bards are at Unified Scene tonight at 8pm ($12).
Three Guys On hosts their weekly comedy showcase at Drafthouse at 10:45pm.
