FAQs

Why are you creating this directory?

Finding an indie improv coach can be difficult. Groups want coaches who are compatible with their team dynamic and can help them grow and improve. Cost can also be a determining factor in coach selection, especially for smaller groups and duos. Comedic Pursuits wants to provide some transparency in that process. We want ensembles to know:

  • Who’s even coaching nowadays in DC
  • What coaches’ hourly rates are
  • Coaches’ experience with coaching

Having this information makes selecting the right coach a much smoother (and much shorter) process.

Do I have to have coaching experience to create a profile?

Nope! We want to display all available coaches in DC. If you’re just starting out, that’s totally fine! We recommend adding the fact that you’re a beginner to your profile, along with any coaching-adjacent experience, such as teaching, TA-ing, or completion of an improv curriculum.

What should I do if I want to edit or delete my profile?

We’re working on a better system for this, but for now, please email kanderson@comedicpursuits.com for all questions, edits, or deletions.

We will also save your email address so we can contact you regarding regular site maintenance and edits. This is purely for maintenance and support, and we promise you will NOT receive any promotional materials, spam, or otherwise unwanted email communications.

Is there a way to advertise only my profile page?

Yes! Either click on your profile picture or the link that says “View full profile.” This should pull up a page solely dedicated to you and your coaching information.

It’s been 24–48 hours. Why don’t I see my profile on the site?

We are humans and are adding your information manually to the site. One of us may have fallen ill, gone on vacation, or been taken down in a zombie apocalypse. We sincerely apologize for any delay and encourage you to send a (kindly worded) enquiry about the status of your profile to kanderson@comedicpursuits.com.
