I don’t know about you, but this queer-run comedy site is NOT going to let the worst astrological day of 2019 rain on its Pride parade.
In fact, we want to keep the party going by asking you, our readers and comedy connoisseurs, who your favorite local LGBTQ+ comedians are.
Because Washington Blade isn’t the only publication that can spotlight kewl kweer people.
Before you fill out our nomination form, we ask that keep these things in mind:
- The comedian you nominate should OPENLY identify as LGBTQ. We will not publish anyone in this post without first asking their permission (we’re not about compromising personal wishes and safety). But we would like to avoid any awkward convos with potential nominees.
- The comedian you nominate should consider DC a performance home base of sorts.
Some questions you might have:
- Can I nominate myself? YES. What kind of homo-run establishment doesn’t promote #selflove?
- Can I nominate more than one comedian? YES. The LGBT+ comedy community is full of AMAZINGLY talented individuals, so it’s understandable that you can’t pick just one to rave about. Just fill out a separate form for each nomination.
- Should I nominate a comedian if I’m not sure that they identify as LGBTQ? NO. Settle for an in-person declaration of your undying admiration for them as a very funny comedian, regardless of their sexuality and/or gender identity.
